The International Labour Organization, i.e. all governments, employers' and workers' organizations - has taken the initiative to launch the global campaign to extend social security coverage. However, the campaign can only be successful, if its goals and activities are also adopted by other key actors, such as international organizations, national institutions, development agencies and various groups of civil society.
Many organizations and people are already working on the extension of social security. One of the campaign's functions is therefore to bring them together as well as to find new partners. The ILO has already concluded partnerships with various development agencies. It works closely together with other international organizations - both within and outside the United Nations family. International employers' and workers' organizations are associated with the campaign. And a great variety of research and civil society institutions contribute to the campaign.
Partnerships can be concluded on the basis of common platforms or activities, so that a growing group of actors can promote the campaign - nationally, regionally and globally. Click on "world activities" to see the various partnerships of the ILO with countries and development agencies. At the international level, the ILO has launched various initiatives, such as the network of mutual organizations in Africa. |
