From Geneva Airport
The No. 28 bus runs from Geneva Airport (Cointrin) to the ILO.
The ride takes about 15 minutes and buses leave roughly every 20 minutes. Take the bus marked
Jardin Botanique, and alight at the BIT stop. The price of the ticket is
currently 3.50 CHF. Taxis charge in the region of 30 CHF for the trip.
From Geneva city centre:
The F and 8 buses link Geneva train station, Cornavin, directly
to the ILO (BIT stop), though the No. 8 bus terminates one stop earlier on Saturdays
and Sundays, leaving a five-minute walk to reach the Organization.
Bus passes
All participants staying at hotels, youth hostels or campsites in
Geneva can benefit from a free Geneva transport card. The personal, non-transferable card is
issued on registration at the place of residence, and entitles its holder to the use of the entire
public transport network without restriction (bus, train and boat). It is valid for the duration
of the stay in Geneva, including the day of departure. The aim of this initiative on the part of the
Genevan authorities is to promote sustainable development by encouraging the use of collective
transport.
For those participants not staying at hotels, youth hostels or campsites
in Geneva, bus cards may be purchased from the on-site Naville newsagent and from newsagents,
tobacconists and TPG kiosks in Geneva.
Arriving by car:
Car parking space is reserved for delegates in the ILO P.1 car
park. Vehicles without Swiss CD plates must carry an ILO sticker, obtained from the Registration
Desk.
