Although, a relatively small professional group, experts in social protection financing are a pivotal element in national social governance. QUA TRAIN is an initiative to train "Masters" in social protection financing for social security institutions, insurance companies, governments, research institutions and consultancy companies. It will implement a one year Masters programme with the collaboration of the International Labour Office (ILO) and the Universiteit Maastricht (UM). It has gained support from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund as well as the Governments of Germany and The Netherlands and shall commence in autumn 2001.

The presentation will introduce details of the programme background, its contents, its venue and its organisation. All interested delegates to the International Labour Conference and staff are invited to attend.
