A display of handicrafts from projects in Cambodia, Mongolia and Thailand, along with items fashioned from urban waste in Tanzania, illustrates how creativity can translate into livelihoods.
The handicraft items featured in the first photo include items such as baskets, articles of clothing, flutes and household accessories. The projects in Asia are working to help link the small producers of these and other items to markets and trade fairs.
The second photo illustrates how common urban waste, such as those in the garbage can on the right, can be recyled into those useful and colourful products you see on the table. This provides an additional source of income for informal economy workers.
