As in previous years, the report has been published in two volumes for the sake of convenience.
2. Under its terms of reference the Committee was called upon to examine:
(a) reports from governments on the application of Conventions that they have ratified (articles 22 and 35 of the Constitution);
(b) information supplied by governments on the submission of certain Conventions and Recommendations to the competent authorities (article 19 of the Constitution);
(c) reports from governments on two Conventions and two Recommendations chosen by the Governing Body (article 19 of the Constitution).
3. The Governing Body's attention is also drawn to the Committee's General Survey, which this year deals with the Migration and Employment (Revised) Convention (No. 97) and Recommendation (No. 86), 1949, as well as the Migrant Workers (Supplementary Provisions) Convention (No. 143) and the Migrant Workers Recommendation (No. 151), 1975. This General Survey will be found in Volume B of the Committee's report. It is based on reports supplied under articles 19 and 22 of the ILO Constitution.
