It brings together government ministers, representatives of workers' and employers' organizations, and academics from Asia, the Pacific and the Gulf and Arab states.

The report of the ILO on “A just energy transition in Southeast Asia: The impact of coal phase-out on jobs” will be launched as a hybrid side event on 24 May 2022 conducted on site in the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok and on an online platform via Zoom. The launch will be part of the seventy-eighth session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

National tripartite preparatory workshops for the 14th AFML will be held in several ASEAN Member States to discuss the theme “Recovery and labour migration in the post pandemic future” and take stock on the progress of stakeholders in implementing the previous AFML recommendations.

As part of Asia-Pacific Climate Week 2021, this event will officially launch the Regional Study on Green Jobs Policy Readiness in ASEAN, which was discussed during the 2020 ASEAN Inter-Ministerial Forum on the Implementation of the ASEAN Declaration on Promoting Green Jobs for Equity and Inclusive Growth in ASEAN Community, and provide an opportunity to highlight the key findings and implications of the report for ASEAN member states as well as other partners throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
