International Migrants Day: Video story telling competition

Have you worked in another country? Are you now working and living back in Myanmar? Tell your story and win a prize!

#Bringing back the skills

Migrants stories. Migrants’ successes.

December 18th is International Migrants Day 2020 and its time to celebrate migrant workers everywhere; including in Myanmar.  Let everyone know how migrants learn from their experience in other countries and bring back that knowledge and experience to Myanmar.

Share your story, win a prize! Let’s celebrate your achievements in Myanmar.

Have you worked in another country? Did that experience help you when you returned to Myanmar? Maybe you used the skills you learnt to set up a small business or find a job you liked? Maybe you learnt a language and are now a tourist guide or taxi driver? Maybe the skills you learned have been useful for the community?

Take a short video of yourself, or your work and tell the story of your successful business or job on your return to Myanmar.  No longer than one minute. Winning videos will be shared on the ILO facebook page and ILO website and winners will receive cash prizes!

Rules

The story contest aims to show how migration can benefit migrants, and how returning migrants can benefit Myanmar. The skills migrants learn through their experiences abroad can contribute to development in Myanmar.

The contest is looking for 1 minute videos of migrants’ own life experiences in work and business on return to Myanmar. Showing how their experience of migration helped them or their community. The stories should inspire or give hope to other migrants and help the wider community see the good that migrants bring back with them.

Here are the rules of the competition
