The immediate concerns of this Study are with the legal regulation of non-standard employment in three countries: India, Indonesia and Viet Nam. The Study has been conducted in the context of a set of activities undertaken by the ILO on Non-Standard Forms of Employment (ILO 2015). It has involved a broad investigation giving rise to issues of the kind indicated in the opening paragraph above. However for sake of drawing together what we have perceived to be the core issues at hand, three main lines of enquiry have suggested themselves in aggregating the questions examined, and consequently have provided us with a general analytical approach.
