  6. The senator's speech at the ‘Our Work Our Lives’ Conference in Dili

    Link to the Speech delivered by Senator Hon Jacinta Collins. The Speech largely contains a discussion on how a strong workplace relations system can support and protect working women in line with the Senator’s involvement in the Equal Remuneration Case in Australia. It also highlights the recent trip undertaken by the Senator to visit self-employment projects of the Youth Employment Promotion (YEP) Programme in the Liquiça district. It notes the success of the program and how it is achieving positive outcomes in Timor-Leste. In addition to this, the Media Release highlights how the program demonstrates the practical and real difference the Australian Government is making through the Australia-ILO Partnership Agreement.

    Tripartite constituents in the Pacific Island nation of Vanuatu have achieved a breakthrough in consultations to draft an Employment Relations Bill. The new Bill will replace the existing Employment Act, the Trade Disputes Act and the Trade Unions Act.
