Winner Announcement Ceremony

Meet the winners of the 1st Cambodia Skills Challenge Innovation Call

The Ceremony will be presided over by the Minister of Labour and Vocational Training and the Resident Coordinator of the UN in Cambodia, along with the participation of the Director of the ILO Country Office for Thailand, Cambodia and Lao PDR.

The United Nations in Cambodia and the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training are co-annnouncing the winners of the 1st Cambodia Skills Challenge Innovation Call, which has identified promising and innovative ideas and solutions that contribute to addressing the different forms and dimensions of Digital TVET in Cambodia. The winning projects will also help young Cambodians, especially those most affected by COVID-19 to acquire skills in demand and accredited certificates as well as increasingly access more decent and productive employment opportunities.

The submitted proposals were evaluated by an independent panel, composed of six skills experts from the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training; United Nations Educational, Scientic and Cultural Organization; International Labour Organization; and Cambodia Federation of Employers and Business Associations.

The winning entries of the Call will receive (i) an implementation agreement of US$50,000 (1st place winner), US$30,000 (2nd place winner) and US$20,000 (3rd place winner) to implement their proposed solution; (ii) participation in the Digital TVET and innovation labs to develop the idea into prototypes ready to be piloted; (iii) access to extended network of experts on skills development; and (iv) national and global visibility.

The Call is supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and Government of People’s Republic of China.
