Webinar on Career Guidance policy and practice during the pandemic

◘ Wednesday, 17 February 2021
◘ 2:30 – 4:00 pm [Geneva/Paris Time]
◘ 8:30 – 10:30 am [Washington DC time]

Cedefop, ILO, ETF, the European Commission, ICCDPP, OECD and UNESCO jointly implemented a flash international survey between 8 June 2020 and 3 August 2020 on how career guidance services responded to the challenges posed by Covid-19. The survey inquired the range of solutions found, especially digital, and the challenges felt by services, practitioners and clients. Conclusions point to critical areas for improvement of access and quality of service provision during lockdown periods and the enhancement of the role of career guidance during economic recovery. Based on the survey findings, the seven organisations have authored the final report, “Career guidance policy and practice in the pandemic”, published by Cedefop

The purpose of this webinar is to share the main findings of this publication, and bring together policymakers, social partners, career guidance practitioners and service managers to exchange knowledge, experiences and practices in an effort to understand how to address existing gaps, support recovery efforts and enable long-term system improvements. The panel session will include public sector representatives, social partners as well as the voice of practitioners and users of who will discuss pressing challenges and the role of guidance in building back better.

The webinar will aim to shed light on:

• How the pandemic has created disruption of services and gaps in coverage;
• How career guidance services have adapted their response during the pandemic;
• How can career guidance systems be improved to better help support individual careers during economic recovery.
