ILO to release updated analysis of global labour market trends

GENEVA (ILO News) – The International Labour Organization (ILO) will publish its World Employment and Social Outlook: September 2024 update on Wednesday, 4 September.

This report provides a comprehensive analysis of the latest global labour market trends. It focuses on the evolving relationship between labour and capital income, challenges facing youth in the current job market, and progress towards key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as 2030 approaches.

The update offers insights beyond headline figures, examining critical factors shaping employment and social conditions worldwide.

The report and all associated materials will be under STRICT EMBARGO until 4 September at 11:30 CET (09:30 GMT).

For Geneva-based, UNOG-accredited correspondents, Celeste Drake, ILO Deputy Director-General, will present the findings at an embargoed hybrid press briefing at the Palais on Wednesday 4 September from 10:30 to 11:30 Geneva time (8:30 to 9:30 GMT).

Login details for the press briefing will be sent to UNOG-accredited correspondents in advance.

Audio of the briefing will be made available to the UNOG press corps and other registered journalists after the press conference.
