The ILO, together with the German Development Cooperation (GTZ) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) will be holding an International Conference on Social Health Insurance in Developing Countries. Participants, including Governments, social partners, stakeholders in international cooperation, etc., will share their experience and discuss the role of social health insurance in fighting poverty and reaching the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Kenyan launch of the Global Campaign on Social Security and Coverage for All, with the participation of Kenya's vice-President Moody Awori. On 5 December 2003, the Campaign on Social Security and Coverage for All in Africa was launched in Addis Ababa during the African Regional Meeting of the ILO. - On 18 June 2003, ILO Director-General Juan Somavia joined representatives of governments, workers' and employers' organizations in launching the "Global Campaign on Social Security and Coverage for All," an initiative to promote the extension of social security coverage to more people throughout the world.
