Strategic HIV/AIDS Response in Enterprises (SHARE): Public-Private Partnership

The ILO’s Strategic HIV/AIDS Response in Enterprises (SHARE) taps into the resources of the public and private sectors for the benefit of workers, their families, and enterprises – not to mention national economies. SHARE’s principal objectives are to help overcome HIV employment-related discrimination and to prevent HIV by reducing risky behaviours among workers in selected economic sectors, especially those that might be more vulnerable to HIV due to working and related living conditions.

Quick facts on ILO PPPs

Between 2008 and 2018, the ILO has engaged with 238 partners, of which 52% are private enterprises, 12% are foundations while 36% are non-state actors ranging from universities to NGOs.
PPPs cover all areas of ILO's mandate, all Programme & Budget outcomes. The ILO engages with the private sector to further the Decent Work Agenda. Partners provide both funding resources as well as strategic partnerships of joint collaboration.

Access to cross-sectoral knowledge on child labour issues from other companies with experience in dealing with similar challenges;
20 years of experience in technical expertise, field work, and policy advice from the ILO International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour, including a members-only website as a repository of publications, communities of practice, and an events board;
Regular updates on changes to child labour legislation, including hazardous work lists sets at the country level;
Enhanced linkages with national tripartite structures and processes to eliminate child labour. Resultantly, efforts are better linked to nationally-owned policies and programmes; and as a corollary, the sustainability of such efforts is increased;
Access to annual high profile CLP conferences, ad hoc training workshops and meetings and webinars.
