The inclusion of persons with disabilities in the digital economy provides interesting opportunities as there is a large unmet demand for IT professionals in jobs like cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, blockchain and digital accessibility.

Ensuring that persons with disabilities can get their fair share of these opportunities requires a concerted action among all relevant stakeholders to promote equal access to the required skills and to ensure that the relevant IT tools and systems are fully accessible.

Digitalization is generally accepted as one of the key drivers in the response to the pandemic, a response that needs to be inclusive of persons with disabilities.
