Women in leadership and management in public sector undertakings in India

This study is part of ILO’s Bureau for Employers’ Activities (ACT/EMP) global initiative on women in business and management.

The study compiles responses from women, as well as few men from select public services undertakings (PSUs) in India. The responses spotlight challenges and opportunities for women in PSUs. The study also proposes recommendations to improve women’ participation in such enterprises. These range from – skilling, to addressing biases in the system, organizational strategy to promote women, facilities, fostering gender equality, recruitment of women in technical roles – among other.
