Events and meetings

    The purpose of the Workshop on Safety and Health at Work in a Modern Business Environment is to provide information to employers and entrepreneurs in Bihar on safety and health at work, how accidents and diseases can be prevented and how work places can work on improvement of working conditions.

  2. Training on HIV and AIDS for the Labour Inspectors

    To train the Labour Inspectors on HIV and AIDS to highlight their role in implementation of National Policy on HIV and AIDS and the World of Work.

    The ILO, in cooperation with the Directorate General Factory Advisory Service and Labour Institutes (DGFASLI), Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE), Government of India is organizing a Seminar on Safety and Health in Ports.

  5. Building a Social Protection Floor for India : Capacity Building Workshop for Trade Unions

    15 - 16 November 2010

    The United Nations Chief Executive Board (CEB), in April 2009, launched the Social Protection Floor Initiative as one of the nine key responses to the global economic and financial crisis. this initiative is co-led by the International Labour Office and the World Health Organization. The proposed two-day workshop is aimed to build the capacity of the workers organizations in India to have a better understanding of the Social Protection Floor concepts and enable them to participate in all future dialogues with the Government on social protection issues.

    The workshop aims to deliberate upon the working and living conditions of the poor and vulnerable workers in the unorganized sectors, and the social safety net that need to be provided for them.
