Training on Social Dialogue and Tripartism

The ILO Country Office for India in collaboration with the Labour Department, Government of Kerala convened a tripartite training on social dialogue and tripartism at the Hotel S.P. Grandays, Thampanoor, Thiruvananthapuram.

The objective of the training was to build the capacity of the tripartite constituents on social dialogue and tripartism. It was a follow-up to an earlier tripartite training, convened in 2018, which focused specifically on Kerala’s Industrial Relations Committees (IRCs). The IRCs are tripartite mechanisms established by the state government, to promote constructive labour relations in a number of large sectors comprising the state economy. The tripartite constituencies in the state therefore requested support from the ILO to enhance their capacity in the area of social dialogue. The key outcome of the training is the more effective functioning of the IRCs and the other tripartite /bipartite structures in the state including the workplace cooperation at the enterprise level.
