  1. First phase of training for trade unions project implemented in Uzbekistan

    24 - 30 November 2015

    The first seminar in a series of similar events provided for in the advanced training of trainers project for trade unions in Uzbekistan was successfully completed in the country on 24 – 30 November. This project is part of the Decent Work Agenda for the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2014 – 2016, agreed upon between the International Labour Organization and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

  2. National Consultation Seminar on assessing the economic contribution of labour migration in Kyrgyzstan (ECLM project)

    A National Consultation Seminar was held in Bishkek on November 17, 2015, and brought together 35 policymakers, government officials and experts to discuss on various aspects of the role of migrant workers in Kyrgyzstan, in the context of the "Assessing the economic contribution of labour migration in developing countries as countries of destination" (ECLM) project.     Informal Meeting of Ministers of Labour and Social Affairs took place at the margin of the International Labour Conference (ILC). During this meeting – jointly organised by Hungary, holding the Presidency of the EU Council, and the ILO – the European Commission, Ministers of Belgium, Spain (as the members of the current Trio Presidency), Poland (as the forthcoming Presidency), Azerbaijan, Croatia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Ukraine and representatives of employer and worker organizations debated on the question how to secure decent work for young people in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.
