    Director, specialists and programme officer of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia gathered to undertake leadership and management training in the context of multiple crises. The exercise served to enhance skills for effective teamwork and use of technologies that enable multi-stakeholder collaboration from various locations.

  3. Promoting just transitions for an environmentally sustainable economy in Kyrgyzstan

    Kyrgyzstan has been experiencing consistent growth in CO2 emissions, continuous increases in temperature extremes and heightened risks of environmental hazards. While supporting the country’s efforts in greening enterprises and transitioning towards environmentally sustainable development patterns, it is crucial to target MSMEs considering their importance for the Kyrgyz economy and society. Through building the capacity of key stakeholders in the world of work, the intervention seeks to enhance the environmental sustainability, productivity, and competitiveness of enterprises through promoting the greening of MSMEs and their integration into the circular economy and global value chains.

  4. Consultants trained to support Kyrgyzstan’s efforts to promote greening of enterprises

    Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan: 16-17 January 2024 Fifteen consultants who have been trained to support Kyrgyzstan’s efforts to promote greening of enterprises for a just transition toward low carbon economy met in Bishkek. They discussed interim results and lessons learnt from baseline visits and training conducted at the selected enterprises.

  7. Kyrgyz Parliament calls for ratification of ILO Convention on Violence and Harassment (C190) during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence

    In cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Parliament Council on the Rights of Women, Children and Gender Equality of the Kyrgyz Republic organized an ad-hoc meeting to mark the launch of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Against Women and Girls. The event focused on violence and harassment in the world of work and ratification of the ILO Convention No.190.

  8. ILO team for Eastern Europe and Central Asia: foreseeing trends for the next biennium

    23-24 November 2023, TASHKENT – The ILO staff gathered here to take part in an innovative Foresight exercise facilitated by ITC ILO. The exercise served to foster team spirit, reflect on working modalities internally and externally - with the constituents and partners, and deliver on ILO mandate - decent work and social justice.

    Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan: On 10 November 2023, the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan (FTK) expressed its position at the National forum “Kyrgyzstan ahead of COP-28 on climate change: Dialogues and positions” organized by the Government Office, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, UNISON GROUP, Green Alliance. The Forum was attended by more than 100 participants representing Government authorities, employers, workers, civil society organizations, international and expert community.
