Tripartite plus representatives comprising of workers, employers, safety officers, labour inspectors, and the academe have attended the one-day regional consultations where they were apprised of the need to update the national OSH profile which was last formulated back in 2006 by the OSHC. During the discussions, participants recognized the importance of having an updated OSH profile which reflected the national OSH situation through data derived from various sources and which mapped out the OSH policies, programmes and services which have been developed over the years. These discussions were referred to when the participants proposed recommendations on national priorities for OSH programmes from 2017 to 2022. Funding for this series of consultations was provided by the United States Department of Labor.
