The National Tripartite Advisory Council (NTAC) of the Philippines, a high-level committee that oversees implementation of the National Action Programme on Decent Work, has identified “localization of Decent Work” as a strategic thrust under its third cycle. The ILO supports a localization campaign through a caravan to raise awareness on Decent Work among tripartite – government, employers’ and workers’ organization – partners, including informal economy workers at local and regional levels.

The caravan includes:

  • Development Decent Work modules
  • Creation of a speakers’ bureau of tripartite partner members who will promote Decent Work
  • Training of trainers to create a pool of Decent Work champions at regional level.

Pilot testing of the caravan is expected from July 2010.
