The brief provides information on impact of the health and economic crisis arising from the COVID-19 pandemic on Nepali migrant workers and identifies a number of key recommendations to assist governments and other stakeholders in designing COVID-19 policy responses that can help to ensure the protection of migrant workers.

Responding to the socio-economic impact brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Office conducted a series of consultations with key stakeholders including members of civil society organizations (organized in coordination with National Network on Safe Migration), members of workers’ organizations and members of Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies (NAFEA) to get a situational update on Nepali migrant workers and collect recommendations for responses moving forward.
