Social protection lecture series #4: Reforms of the employment insurance system of Korea in coping with the COVID-19 crisis

This ILO Jakarta Social Protection Lecture explores the role of employment insurance system in time of crisis using the case of Korea; and the policy reforms of the Employment Insurance System in Korea.


Speakers will discuss what unemployment protection mechanisms Korea had before the pandemic; how the Employment Insurance System mitigated the impact of ongoing crisis; and what policy reforms have been made to improve protection of unemployed workers and prevention from employment termination.
