    Actor Morgan Oey supports the promotion of decent work for Indonesian domestic workers by lending his voice to read out the life story of Sargini as a child domestic worker. Before more than 200 people, Morgan relives the Sargini’s life under the title “The lost childhood”, depicting heavy work burdens she had to face as a child domestic worker in Yogyakarta.

  2. Promoting decent work for domestic workers: Maruli A. Hasoloan, Director General of Labour Placement

    Maruli A. Hasoloan, Director General of Labour Placement and Employment Development of the Ministry of Manpower, has given voice to the life story of Siti Kholifah, a domestic worker from Yogyakarta. Under the title “Benefits of written working contract”, she told her life story enjoying benefits she gained from having a written working contract.

  3. Promoting decent work for domestic workers: Actor Lukman Sardi

    18 August 2017

    Lukman Sardi, a senior actor, has given voice to the life story of Kholisoh, a domestic worker from Yogyakarta. Under the title “Give my salary without having to ask”, Kholisoh wrote about her plight as a domestic worker for the last 14 years.

  4. Promoting decent work for Indonesian domestic workers: Chair of Indonesian Women’s Congress Giwo Rubianto

    Giwo Rubianto, Chair of Indonesian Women’s Congress (Kowani), lends her voice to bring the life story of Tatik, a domestic worker from Yogyakarta, to life before more than 200 people attending the launch a book titled “We Will not Be Silent: 31 Stories of Domestic Workers behind the Domestic Walls”, in August 2017 in Jakarta.

  5. ILO and ETI to bring SCORE Training to suppliers of international brands in Guangdong and Shanghai

    The ILO Office for China and Mongolia and Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) are cooperating to improve the productivity, competiveness and sustainability of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province and Shanghai.

  6. Victory and justice for Indonesian domestic workers

    For more than seven years, Siti Sri Marni, 22 years old, was kept as prisoner in the home of her employer who regularly violently abused and deprived her of food, sleep and payment for long hours of grueling work. Her case was considered important in the fight for justice for domestic workers in the country as most of the legal cases involving domestic workers rarely go to the court.

  10. Financing still troubles small businesses

    An opinion-editorial by Owais Parray, the Chief Technical Adviser of the ILO's Promoting Micro and Small Enterprises through Entrepreneur’s Access to Financial Services (PROMISE IMPACT) Project in Indonesia highlighting the importance of micro and small enterprises as the source of employment, yet they face limited access to finance from banks and other formal financial institutions. The Op-Ed is published by the Jakarta Post on 25 January.
