Two out of the said planned series have been conducted in district Depalpur and Pakpattan. Over 55 participants, comprising farmers, contractors, sub-contractors, labourers, community representatives, at each district attended the awareness raising seminar. Participants were sensitized on the issue of child labour; their role in the supply chain and how they matter to make this chain free of child labour; what are the labour laws recently promulgated by the government; what facilities government is providing on free education for child laboureres and rehabilitation of their families; how the adolescents could be linked with vocational institutions in their areas to get diplomas with stipends. All participants confirmed that they comprehend the above mentioned issues and showed their commitment to address child labour and promote decent work.
