National stakeholders’ workshop on achieving SDGs and ending poverty through Social Protection

A national stakeholders’ workshop was organised by the ILO as part of the project ‘Achieving SDGs and Ending Poverty through Social Protection’, funded by the UN Peace and Development Trust Funds pledged by the Government of China. The project is being jointly implemented by the ILO and UNDESA in Cambodia and Pakistan.

Awareness raising seminars conducted on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work for cotton growing communities in district Sanghar

Under the ILO-INDITEX PPP, two community level awareness raising seminars were conducted in district Sanghar benefiting 159 participants (cotton growing communities and local key stakeholders) to strengthen their understanding on the Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (FPRW) and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in the cotton supply chain.

ILO pilots Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE) training programme in Pakistan

The International Labour and Environmental Standards Application in Pakistan’s SMEs (ILES), a project of ILO, funded by the European Union, piloted SCORE training programme in Pakistan. Ten large textile enterprises and 13 consultants were trained in workplace cooperation, quality management, clean production, human resource management and occupational safety and health.

The future of work and the significance of effective collective bargaining and negotiations

The Labour Standards in Global Supply Chains (LSGSC) project, funded by German Ministry for Development Cooperation (BMZ) & Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO) completed a four-day training on collective bargaining and negotiations skills during 24-27 September 2018 in Lahore, Pakistan.

Fourteenth cohort of national labour inspectors’ training program completed
09 August 2018
The fourteenth cohort and fifth batch of inspecting staff of the Department of Labour Punjab were trained under the ILO’s Dutch funded project on Strengthening Labour Inspection Systems in Pakistan (SLISP). This brings the number of trained inspecting staff to 403 inspecting staff [ i.e. 385 men and 18 women] from Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, AJK, ICT, GB and Punjab.
