National Tripartite Preparatory Meetings for 7th ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labour (AFML) from September to November 2014 was held in several ASEAN member states to take stock on progress to date and implementation of previous forums’ recommendations at the national level, to discuss the 7th AFML’s proposed theme, and to prepare recommendations for the 7th AFML. The 6th ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labour is scheduled to take place on 26 and 27 November 2013 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. The ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labour (AFML) is an open platform for review, discussion and exchange of best practices and ideas between governments, workers’ and employers’ organizations, and civil society stakeholders on key issues facing migrant workers in South-East Asia, and develop recommendations to advance the implementation of the principles of the ASEAN Declaration on Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers.
