National strategic planning workshop to develop a roadmap to achieve Target 8.7

In order to support Viet Nam’s effort for building the national alliance 8.7, ILO has provided seed funding to the Department of Child Affairs (DCA) of MOLISA to organize a national strategic planning workshop. The workshop will be held in 9 May 2019 in order to develop a national roadmap for achieving Target 8.7.

Viet Nam has been selected as one of 15 pathfinder countries of Global Alliance 8.7 aiming at achieving Target 8.7 of SDGs on the elimination of child labour, forced labour, human trafficking and modern slavery. For the time being, the major focus for Viet Nam is on child labour including child trafficking mainly for economic exploitation. It is planned that the roadmap will be submitted to the National Committee for Children for endorsement.

Objective

  • Developing a roadmap/ plan among Ministries and relevant stakeholders to achieve Target 8.7 on the prevention and elimination of child labour.
  • Strengthening the collaboration and responsibilities of relevant Ministries and coordinating role of MOLISA in achieving “Target 8.7”.
