Training of Trainers for Using the ILO International Classification of Radiographs of Pneumoconioses

The training workshop is an annual cooperative activity between the LABADMINOSH/ILO, WHO and Health Environment Management Agency (HEMA) of the Ministry of Health, that aims to address the national efforts for prevention of pneumoconioses in Viet Nam.

The ILO Classification of Radiographs of Pneumoconioses is the global standard for early detection of silicosis, asbestos-related diseases and other pneumoconiosis. Its use is mandatory in many countries for the health surveillance of workers exposed to mineral dusts. ILO conducts advanced training courses to upgrade skills of medical specialists in developing countries including Viet Nam in using proficiently this ILO tool. The previous training workshop was successfully conducted in Hanoi last year in cooperation with WHO and Ministry of Health (MOH). MOH has then issued an official guideline on the diagnosis of the pneumoconiosis with the use of the ILO Classification and plans to develop an on-going training programme after the TOT Workshop that is organized from 18 to 22 July 2016 in Hanoi. The TOT Workshop is delivered by ILO and WHO specialists and other international consultants.
