Policy dialogue on the new Social Insurance Law

The policy dialogue opens opportunities for key stakeholders to learn about the amended provisions in the new Social Insurance Law as well as to discuss the stumbling blocks encountered by employers and employees in their efforts to implement the policy effectively and to comply with the law.

The policy dialogues are organized in 3 regions including Hanoi on 13 July 2016, Da Nang on 15 July 2016, and Vung Tau on 29 July 2016.

These events aim to achieve the following objectives:
  • Employers and employees have a better understanding of the statutory provisions under the new Social Insurance Law. They also have an opportunity to raise their concerns and share the difficulties in contributing to and benefiting from the system.
  • Provincial DOLISAs, other related provincial departments, and VSS branches have a better understanding of the new and amended provisions under the new Social Insurance Law. Also, they have an opportunity to share the issues and difficulties in fulfilling their role and responsibilities.
  • ILO shares international experiences in reforming social security systems, explains the reasons behind the key amendments in the Social Insurance Law, thereby facilitate the understanding and consensus on the part of employers and employees.
  • Related stakeholders have a forum to jointly discuss about the issues as well as find solutions to address them in the future.
