Action Campaign for the World Day Against Child Labour in Viet Nam 2016

The communication campaign is to commemorate the World Day against Child Labour 2016 in Viet Nam and will include a series of activities, targeted at different audience groups

This year World Day Against Child Labour (WDACL), 12 June 2016 themes is: “End child labour in supply chains - It's everyone's business!” which focus on child labour in supply chains. Supply chains are the sequence of activities/processes involved in the production and distribution of a product. With globalization, supply chains have become increasingly complex, involving workers, small producers, and enterprises around the world.

In Vietnam, the National Assembly is planning to ratify the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement or TPP in June 2016. With TPP framework, the Government of Viet Nam is committed to comply with core international labour standards such as elimination of child labour and forced labour.

To celebrate the World day against child labour, in Vietnam, ENHANCE project will implement the WDACL activities as stated in the project work plan
• The main objective of this activity is to raise awareness on child labour especially child labour in supply chains.
• Expected Outcomes: By the end of WDACL, the following outcomes are expected:

- A workshop is organized to discuss reduction and elimination of child labour in supply chains. This will be an opportunity for ENHANCE project to identify areas of collaboration with the participants of the workshop to address CL in supply chains.

- A video clip on child labour especially CL in supply chains is produced and aired during WDACL week to raise awareness and call for actions.

- A talk show/ discussion about child labour in supply chains is aired on television during the WDACL week to raise public awareness.

- News and articles on WDACL activities and how to eliminate child labour in supply chains are published on popular newspapers, magazines, MOLISA newsletter, Children television programme, newsletter of VCCI, VCA
