Media Award

3rd Labour and Employment Media Award Ceremony

Winners of 14 prizes are awarded at the event.

Following the success of the first and second Labour and Employment Media Award, the Academy for Journalism and Communication, the Party Central Committee for Propaganda and Education, and the International Labour Organization (ILO) join hands to organize the third award for 2016.

The award aims to create an incentive for Vietnamese journalists to produce informed, objective and critical media coverage of the current issues on the world of work so that the general public can be better aware of actual challenges in today’s labour market in Viet Nam. It is also expected to encourage journalists to capture and produce investigative articles on emerging issues in labour and employment.

About 260 entries were submitted (one-third up in the number of entries against the previous year) to compete for 14 prizes in two categories – print-online and broadcast.

The award ceremony is held in the morning of 22 April 2016 at the Ballroom of the Academy for Journalism and Communication at No 36 Xuan Thuy Street, Cau Giay District, Hanoi.

Notable participants at the event include Mr Pham Van Linh, Vice Head of the Central Party Committee for Propaganda and Education; Mr Truong Ngoc Nam, Rector of the Academy for Journalism and Communication; Ms Tomoko Nishimoto, ILO Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific; Mr Chang-Hee Lee, Director of the ILO Country Office for Viet Nam; Mr David Devine, Canadian Ambassador to Viet Nam; and Ms Nienke Trooster, Dutch Ambassador to Viet Nam among other distinguished guests.
