HANOI (ILO News) – Vietnamese journalists who have their stories published or broadcast in 2015 can now compete for the third annual Media Award for Labour and Employment.

The 2016 award opens for two categories – print/online and broadcast, each with a first prize, a second prize and three encouragement prizes. The prizes are VND20 million, VND10 million, VND5 million and VND3 million each respectively in cash.

The award is co-organized by the Central Committee for Propaganda and Education, the Viet Nam Academy of Journalism and Communication and the International Labour Organization (ILO). It aims to create an incentive for Vietnamese journalists to produce informed, objective and critical media coverage of the current and emerging issues in the world of work so that the general public can be better aware of actual challenges in today’s labour market in the country.

The award ceremony will take place in the last week of April 2016.

Winners of the second award in 2015 included journalists of Can Tho, Sai Gon Giai Phong, Tuoi Tre and Dan Tri newspapers.
