    A roadmap for the promotion of sustainable, responsible and inclusive investments and business practices for the realization of decent work in Egypt, built upon the ILO Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy (ILO MNE Declaration) was presented after a three-day workshop facilitated by the ILO with representatives from Government, Employers’ and Workers’ organizations in attendance.

  1. Transformational change for gender equality through responsible business conduct

    This three-week online course will look at the role of governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations as well as enterprises in advancing gender equality in the world of work, and explore how responsible business conduct can be used to create inclusive and equitable workplaces. The course offers two learning tracks to better fit the diverse training objectives of the participants.

  1. Economic diversification, industrial linkages and FDI local sourcing towards decent work and a human-centred employment recovery in Asia- Pacific

    An online course that aims to increase knowledge on policies that promote economic diversification, industrial linkages and FDI local sourcing. The course aims to build stakeholder capacities to advocate for evidence-based policies, develop consensus and advise their institutions on strategies that enable industrial linkages and leverage direct investments for creation of productive employment and local industry development.

    Over 2,000 governments’, employers’ and workers’ representatives from 54 countries gathered in Bogotá (Colombia) from 13-15 July to discuss Business and Human Rights in Latin America and the Caribbean.

  2. ILO workshop among OECD National Contact Points for Responsible Business Conduct to enhance policy coherence on international labour standards

    Organized from 20 June to 1 July 2022, the workshop highlighted the coherence and linkages that exist between the ILO MNE Declaration and the OECD MNE Guidelines, in particular concerning issues related to decent work and human rights, including in the context of due diligence.

  1. Call for consultant: Supply and demand of financial services for agricultural value chains in Sierra Leone

    The ILO is looking for a consultant to update and complement a review of Sierra Leone’s financial services sector. The review focuses on internal and external value chain finance and will build on earlier ILO assessments in 2017 and 2020. The review will include a mapping of existing approaches, gaps and potential entry points for the financial sector in the agricultural value chain as well as identifying potential actors in agricultural value chains that would benefit from it. The deadline for submitting applications is 10 May 2022.

  3. Knowledge building on productivity management in food processing sector and sustainable integration in global supply chain

    A workshop organized by ILO Promoting Sustainable Enterprises in India (PSEI) project in collaboration with the State Government of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, to build knowledge of food processing enterprises in the two states, on responsible management practices, and alignment to international standards.

  4. International labour standards and corporate social responsibility: the labour dimension of human rights due diligence

    Online course aims to strengthen the capacity of participants to understand the principles of international labour standards as they relate to company operations (including due diligence related to labour rights) and how those principles can be most effectively implemented in company operations.

    In Nigeria, the ILO’s ACCEL Africa Project is extending partnerships for the elimination of child labour and forced labour. The project strengthens support systems for farmers especially in the cocoa value chain, where child labour is prevalent.
