  1. Germany: The US Ambassador Luis CdeBaca attends an IOM/ILO conference in Berlin on human trafficking

    17 October 2010

    The conference will focus on practical ways to identify and assist victims of trafficking in Germany. It is in the framework of the projet "Berlin Alliance against Trafficking for Labour Exploitation" implemented by IOM, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the German Confederation of Trade Unions Berlin-Brandenburg and the Berlin Senate for Integration, Labour and Social Affairs.

  2. A Rights-based Approach to Counter Labor Trafficking – U.S. and German Experiences

    The conference will provide a forum for U.S. and German experts to explore how government and civil society can cooperate to assist labor trafficking victims.

    Mrs Gulnara Shahinian, conducted an official mission to Mauritania from 24 October to 4 November 2009. The main objective of the mission was to look at the effectiveness of the Mauritanian policies, laws and specific programmes to combat slavery.

To honour business leaders who take an active stand against human trafficking, End Human Trafficking Now!, the United Nations Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking (UN.GIFT) and the United Nations Global Compact are jointly launching a new international award, “Business Leaders against Human Trafficking”

  1. Partnerships among international organisations active in the field of trafficking in human beings

    4th meeting of the Committee of the Parties of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings. The aim of the debate is to determine the actions to be taken to strengthen partnerships and improve co-ordination between the different international organisations active in the field of preventing and combating trafficking in human beings and protecting its victims.

  2. Regional Workshop for Employers’ Organisations from the Southern Caucasus and Destination Countries on Strategies against Human Trafficking and Forced Labour

    The EU funded regional project “Strengthening of comprehensive anti-trafficking response in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia” takes place in the Caucasus region covering Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia and seeks to contribute to the progressive reduction of trafficking in human beings in these three countries. The Conference is a regional component of the Project and will contribute to the development of a coherent anti-trafficking strategy for the Employers’ Organizations to take action against forced labour and trafficking in human beings
