Prevention of Modern Slavery: “An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure”

Conference organized by the OSCE, including speakers from ILO, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, IOM, trade unions and NGOs on the prevention of trafficking in human beings.

Panels will tackle prevention, by undermining of the trafficking business model and decreasing vulnerability, the impact of the global financial crisis on trafficking and how to prevent its consequences, as well as the role of the media in the prevention of trafficking. One session will be dedicated to best practices.
The results of the research undertaken under the UN Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking (UN.GIFT) Expert Group Initiative “Analyzing the business model and socio-economic causes of THB in order to decrease vulnerabilities to THB and to better prevent the crime” will be presented
