The International Labor Organization (ILO), in collaboration with the Union des Footballeurs Professionnels de Côte d'Ivoire (UFPCI) and the Plateforme des Centrales Syndicales sur la Migration en Côte d'Ivoire (PCSM-CI), is continuing its campaign to raise awareness among young footballers in Côte d'Ivoire of the importance of voluntary and well-prepared migration.

On 6 December 2023, Phase III of the Integrated Programme on Fair Recruitment (FAIR) held its inaugural Project Advisory Board (PAB) Meeting in Accra, Ghana. Chaired by the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, the meeting saw the validation of the PAB's Terms of Reference and the approval of the project's comprehensive workplan.

Drogba warns about African footballers’ dreams that turn into nightmares

Ivorian football star, Didier Drogba, has warned young, aspiring African footballers about the dangers of exploitation and human trafficking – part of a campaign run by the ILO, the International Federation of Professional Footballers’ Associations (FIFPRO) and the Didier Drogba Foundation. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the risks facing young footballers hoping to realize their dreams of playing in the big leagues abroad.
