    The law aims to advance the social and solidarity economy (SSE) in the country by establishing the definition and providing a regulatory and promotional policy framework for the SSE.

On this occasion, the ILO interviewed Ms. Maru Bautista, Director of the Cooperative Development Programme at the Center for Family Life, on Brightly®, the first worker cooperative franchise in the United States.

  4. The 2019 ITC-ILO Rural Academy includes an elective on cooperatives

    Co-organized by the ILO’s Cooperatives Unit and its partner, Agriterra, the elective focused on a range of topics including the role of cooperatives in rural development, basics of the cooperative business model and methodologies for cooperative development.

    The Indian Academy of Self-Employed Women (IASEW) conducted a training of facilitators on the ILO’s Think.Coop training tool, with a view to further strengthening women cooperative entrepreneurs in the rural and informal economy in India.

  6. The Republic of Djibouti passes a law on the social and solidarity economy (SSE)

    10 December 2019

    The new law was adopted to promote the development of SSE organizations as a means of extending social protection and eradicating poverty in Djibouti.
