    The SAP, that was presented to the members of the 346th session of the ILO GB for their comments and suggestions on November 9th, received support from the tripartite constituents.

  2. The ILO participates in open dialogue on new scenarios for cooperatives and the social and solidarity economy in Uruguay

    On November 14th, the United Nations in Uruguay and the National Co-operativism Institute (INACOOP) held an open dialogue to discuss challenges, opportunities and new scenarios for coooperatives and the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) in the country.

  4. The Ten Year (2023-2032) Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) Strategy for Africa validated at African Union Tripartite Meeting

    The Tripartite Consultative Meeting took place in Cape Town, South Africa on 3-4 November 2022. It brought together tripartite constituents from across the continent to discuss the ten year SSE strategy and its implementation plan. The Strategy has already been validated by civil society and SSE organisations on 24-25 August 2022 in Windhoek, Namibia.

  5. ILO contributes to the HomeNet Southeast Asia (HNSEA) Thematic Workshop on Social Solidarity Economy

    The Workshop, that took place on 2nd November 2022 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, aimed to improve an understanding of the values and principles of the social and solidarity economy (SSE) from the perspective and experiences of homebased workers.

  7. Regional Dialogue on Climate Change and Migration Nexus in the Arab Region

    The Issue Based Coalition on Migration in the Arab region (IBC/M), co-convened by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the League of Arab States (LAS), together with the members of the IBC/M, with support from the Regional United Nations Network on Migration in the Arab region organized a Regional Dialogue on the Climate Change and Migration Nexus in the Arab Region, aiming to take a collective deep dive on the impact of climate change on different migrant groups and Member States.

    The 6th Summit of the Cooperatives of the Americas took place from 24 to 27 October 2022, in Luque (Asunción -Paraguay). At the summit co-operators from the region had the opportunity to debate the future of the cooperative movement based on the new world context and its role within the international community. ILO COOP Manager was one of the two main speakers on the cooperative identity session on October 25, 2022.
