    The Issue Based Coalition on Migration in the Arab region (IBC/M), co-convened by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the League of Arab States (LAS), together with the members of the IBC/M, with support from the Regional United Nations Network on Migration in the Arab region organized a Regional Dialogue on the Climate Change and Migration Nexus in the Arab Region, aiming to take a collective deep dive on the impact of climate change on different migrant groups and Member States.

  1. ILO participates in the 6th Summit of the Cooperatives of the Americas

    The 6th Summit of the Cooperatives of the Americas took place from 24 to 27 October 2022, in Luque (Asunción -Paraguay). At the summit co-operators from the region had the opportunity to debate the future of the cooperative movement based on the new world context and its role within the international community. ILO COOP Manager was one of the two main speakers on the cooperative identity session on October 25, 2022.

  2. Capacity building of cooperative enterprises in agribusiness sector in Morocco

    Thirty-four trainers from national cooperative support institutions benefitted from two training of trainers carried out in Morocco. This initiative is part of the ILO’s ongoing work to create more and better jobs in the agribusiness sector in the country.

  5. The UN Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE) held its 40th regular meeting

    The 40th UNTFSSE meeting was held virtually on 05 October 2022. It brought together more than 40 participants from eight member (ILO, UNRISD, ESCAP, ECLAC, UNDP, UNDESA, UNCTAD and OECD), twelve observer organizations (Catalyst2030, CIRIEC, CSEND, EESC, EMES, EURICSE, DIESIS, GSEF, Euclid Network, ICA, SSE International Forum, RIPESS) and two resource persons.
