On May 13, 2022 the International Cooperative Alliance organized an event that brought together cooperators and the ILO to reflect on the outcomes of the 33rd World Cooperative Congress, the relevance of the ILO’s Promotion of Cooperatives Recommendation and the upcoming general discussion on “Decent work and the social and solidarity economy (SSE) at the 110th International Labour Conference.

The UN Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE) held its 39th regular meeting

The 39th UNTFSSE meeting was held virtually on 11 May 2022. It brought together 45 participants from six member organizations (ILO, UNRISD, UNDESA, UNCTAD, ESCAP and OECD), twelve observer organizations (CIRIEC, EMES, EURICSE, DIESIS, GSEF, Euclid Network, Social Economy Europe, SSE International Forum, RIPESS, CSEND, EESC and ICA) and three resource persons.

The Director of the Enterprises Department of the ILO and Chair of the UN Task Force on the Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE), Mr Vic Van Vuuren has participated in the Catalysing Change Week 2022, an international event to unlock and accelerate the potential of the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE).

Organized in Strasburg on 5-6 May, the event brought together more than 2,000 social economy stakeholders of Europe and beyond.
