The UN Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy (UNTFSSE) held its 40th regular meeting
The 40th UNTFSSE meeting was held virtually on 05 October 2022. It brought together more than 40 participants from eight member (ILO, UNRISD, ESCAP, ECLAC, UNDP, UNDESA, UNCTAD and OECD), twelve observer organizations (Catalyst2030, CIRIEC, CSEND, EESC, EMES, EURICSE, DIESIS, GSEF, Euclid Network, ICA, SSE International Forum, RIPESS) and two resource persons.

Reflections on mainstreaming and enhancing the international dimensions of the SSE were shared, including the recent updates on the process leading to a UN resolution on the SSE and sustainable development. A brief overview was given on the ongoing and future steps following the adoption of the Resolution and conclusions concerning decent work and the SSE at the 110th International Labour Conference (ILC) of the ILO. Moreover, it was noted that a growing number of OECD member and non-member states expressed interest in following the guidance provided in the OECD Recommendation on the SSE and social innovation adopted in June 2022 by the OECD Council.

As part of the round of updates, EMES International Research Network provided information on its ongoing work on the SSE. Creating synergies for future events was also discussed, in particular within the framework of the Mont Blanc Meetings – Americas taking place on 17 to 19 October 2022 in Cartagena, Colombia; and GSEF2023 which will take place in Dakar (Senegal) from 1 to 6 May 2023 among others.
