Environmental credentials of EU trade policy
ILO guest speaker Ms Eline Blot from Institute for European Environmental Policy will make a presentation on the topic of “Environmental credentials of EU trade policy”.
Ms Marva Corley-Coulibaly (RESEARCH) will chair the Seminar. The presentation scheduled for is an opportunity to discuss the recent research carried out by the Institute for European Environmental Policy.
The EU is leading the charge to increase the environmental sustainability of its free trade agreements (FTAs). IEEP’s recent study analyses the treatment of environmental issues (e.g. safeguards) across eleven EU FTAs, both final or proposed. The purpose of the study is to facilitate evidence-based stakeholder engagement in EU trade policymaking under the European Green Deal.
