Evidence on ALMPs in Latin America: meta analysis and a long-term experiment

Jochen Kluve is Professor of Empirical Labor Economics at the School of Business and Economics, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and Head of the Berlin Office of RWI. He studied economics in Heidelberg, Dublin and Amsterdam and completed his PhD at the University of Heidelberg (Dr. rer. pol. 2002). From 2001 until 2003 Jochen was a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Labor Economics, UC Berkeley. He has been working as a researcher for RWI since 2003. He is also a research fellow of IZA, Bonn.

Professor Kluve will present a systematic collection and assessment of impact evaluation studies of active labour market programmes (ALMP) in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) as well as the results of a large-scale randomized controlled trial of a youth training program, estimating treatment effects six years after random assignment, including long-term labor market trajectories of young people.
