The world of work and the environment - national experiences
Government, workers’ and employers’ representatives discussed the link between environmental sustainability and the vision of decent work for all at the 102nd International Labour Conference, held in June 2013 in Geneva.
The Sustainable Development Committee concluded: “The greening of economies presents many opportunities to achieve social objectives: it has the potential to be a new engine of growth, both in advanced and developing economies, and a net generator of decent green jobs that can contribute significantly to poverty eradication and social inclusion.”
Country delegates were invited to share their views and national experiences about employment creation and the protection of the environment.
