Better work in the garment industry boosts productivity, profit and worker wellbeing

Recently, thousands of delegates gathered in Geneva for the International Labour Conference in Geneva. One of the themes under discussion was global supply chains, and how best to improve working conditions in them. In many ways, the garment industry typifies the challenge of bringing decent work to this type of worldwide industrial organization. ILO News spoke to the director of an innovative programme, co-managed by the International Labour Organization, that looks to improve the working lives of garment workers.
