Developing skills for a resilient recovery

This report prepared by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) for the 1st BRICS Employment Working Group meeting addresses the importance of skills for the recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic and for resilience against future crises. The six key priority issues include: upskilling and reskilling in response to digitization and technological innovation; improving governance and coordination in skill systems; improving quality in skills development; strengthening skills development in rural and disadvantaged areas; harnessing the potential of skills competitions; and enhancing cooperation on skills development among BRICS countries. The report concludes with specific policy recommendations on how BRICS countries can address these challenges.
