Seminar on Labour Inspection and its links with regional and government institutions in Central America

Following an ongoing tradition in Central America, a regional seminar was held on labour inspection from 11 to 13 May 2011, organized by the ILO project "PROFIL" and attended by Maria-Luz Vega, Senior Labour Administration and Inspection Officer from LAB/ADMIN.

Seminar | San José, Costa Rica | 17 May 2011
The event was organized with the objective of promoting and learning from national experiences intended to improve the organization and effectiveness of labour inspection systems in the region, based on the principle that labour inspection is a public service provided by Ministries of Labour to monitor labour law compliance and to deliver advice to constituents.
The seminar was attended by Directors General of Labour Inspection, Directors and Heads of Regional and Departmental Offices, along with representatives from workers' and employers' organizations.
