    Building back better through ILO-PWF rapid infrastructure rehabilitation project launched in Baluchistan

    In response to devastating floods of 2022, ILO has supported Pakistan Workers Federation to launch “rapid infrastructure rehabilitation” project for the flood-affected people in Hanna Orak Baluchistan. This project will generate around 5000 of person days of employment for the flood affected people.

    2.36 to 3.6 million jobs may have been lost and/or disrupted as a result of the worst ever floods in the history of Pakistan that devastated more than 84 districts of Pakistan, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and HRD briefed the media on initial estimates calculated by the ILO.
